A century old teak wood mortar originally used to grind rice, is repurposed into this minimalist side table or stool. We first turned it upside down and smoothed out the entire piece and then made sleek cut outs and added recessed butterflies inlaid into the wood. Finished in a chocolate translucent stain revealing the beautiful wood grain. It’s all in the details. Both usable and sculptural. We have a small collection.
