Antique colonial desk or console. The patina on this teak wood is beautiful. Hand carved legs with the original remnants of color and beautiful carving around the side, make this a special piece. This desk or console has been restored to its authentic roots. It’s all in the details. Full dimensions; 60” wide  x 35″ deep  x 35.5″ high x leg room 27″ high.

This desk or console was hand made in the spirit of wabi-sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility. This kind of luxury is for a select few: The Emperor of Japan had a Wabi garden. Wabi is for people who already have a lot.
