Stunningly beautiful century old teak wood coffee table featuring our unique minimalist carving. The sides of this ancient teak root are hand carved by our master wood carver. We added a chocolate translucent stain revealing the beautiful rare wood grain. It’s all in the details. Both usable and sculptural.
This one of a kind coffee table was hand made in the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility.
