A late 19th century lawon, ceremonial presentation scarf worn by a married woman from Palembang, Sumatra. This multi-colored silk textile was resist dyed in a process called plangi pelangi, Mounted on a slightly padded white linen with a 2” boarder. Perfect as an art piece or headboard.
