A century old teak rice pounder is repurposed into this one of a kind console or pedestal whilst respecting the natural organic wood. Originally used lying down flat with the hole, which we left intact, used for grinding rice. We added wood butterflies into the top and side and finished with a light white wash revealing the beautiful wood grain. It’s all in the details.
The St. Barts Collection features an exciting line of organic white wash, bleached and natural weathered teak furniture. The reclaimed teak is bleached and left to bake in the sun and sea salt air for over a year to achieve this unique finish. Select pieces are infused with a brilliant aqua or soft blue resin that is cracked to achieve a unique quartz crystal effect. The final result evokes imagery of the white sand beaches and brilliant aqua waters of the famous French Caribbean Island.
